Turkey Trot
For 27 years, thousands of people have gathered on Main Street Flemington Thanksgiving morning to earn their turkey with a 5K or 2 mile fitness run. Hosted by the Center for Educational Advancement and Joanna Foods, Flemington’s Turkey Trot is the largest in the state with an anticipated 6,000 participants for the 2019 race.
This race is a great way to kick off the holiday season and supports a great cause with all proceeds benefiting the not-for-profit Center of Educational Advancement. This organization helps facilitate career pathways and community employment for children and adults with disabilities. Close to 6,000 runners and walkers flock to Flemington every Thanksgiving Morning for the Annual CEA/Johanna Foods Turkey Trot 5K Run and 2-mile Fitness Walk, no matter what Mother Nature decides to serve us that morning!
Since 1993 and the first CEA Turkey Trot, over 81,000 registration forms for the event have been processed, many for people who come out for a good time including a host of Pilgrims, Native Americans, Santas, Super Heroes, Reindeer, Gorillas, Elves, Bananas, Hula Hoopers, Jugglers and many others who are part of the Turkey Trot Flock!
The Main Street Half Marathon is an annual race that highlights the beauty and local attractions of downtown Flemington and Clinton, New Jersey. The collective vision for this race is simple: highlight some of the greatest things our area has to offer – beautiful landscape, welcoming communities and generously supportive small businesses. The course begins on Main Street Clinton and continues over the South Branch Raritan River, through the woods, up, down and over the rolling hills of Clinton Township, into Raritan Township and finally finishes on Main Street Flemington. It is powered by Pro-Activity and sponsored by local businesses in Flemington and Clinton.
