South End Residential Grant

The New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA) and the Borough of Flemington South End Community entered into a contract to administer the Neighborhood Preservation Program (NPP) in its NPP Neighborhood District known as South End Community in order to address the comprehensive revitalization needs within the targeted area.
The NPP program in the Borough of Flemington will provide rehabilitation assistance in the purchasing of materials, for needed exterior (façade) repairs, to eligible homeowners in the Flemington South End Community. NPP District Residents must meet Basic EligibilityRequirements. Assistance is available, on a first come first serve basis, until program funding is exhausted. The attached application should be completed by any homeowners interested in the program.
What is an NPP Materials Grant?
NPP Material Grants will allow a residential property owner who occupies their property to be reimbursed (up to $1,000.00) for the cost of material used to rehabilitate the façade street-front facing elements of a residential property for repairs visible to the street. Material Grants are to be used for the repair and restoration of existing architectural elements and NOT for the additions of said elements. The $1,000 may only be used to purchase materials to make repairs and the homeowner will be responsible for completing such repairs. The attached application should be completed by any homeowner interested in the grant funding.
Residents in the South End District must meet Basic Eligibility Requirements:
Assistance is available on a first-come, first-serve basis until program funding is exhausted. The attached application must be completed by any homeowners interested in the program. For the first year of this potential 5-year grant program, we will limit applications to the Owner-Occupied homes on the following blocks: Brown Street, Grant Street, Fulper Street, Central Station, Stangl Road Area (not including Liberty Village parcels),Mine Street: between Main and Stangl and Main and Academy, Main Street: Between Rt 12 and Maple Street and Rt 12 and Mine, Church Street: Between Broad Street and Stangl Road. There will be 15 owner occupied residents awarded $1000.00 grant.
Homeowner eligibility criteria are as follows:

The property must be located on the streets described above.

The applicant must furnish proof of property ownership by providing a copy of their Deed or property tax record.

The applicant must furnish proof the property owner is current on their real estate taxes for the subject property.

The applicant must furnish proof the property owner is current on their property insurance.

The property must be free from code violations.

The request for assistance is in alignment with the strategic objectives of the NPP Implementation Plan as outlined above.
Grant Deadlines:
Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis but must be submitted by September 30, 2022.
- We will inform all applicants of their status by October 3, 2022.
- All grant work must be complete by November 14, 2022 with all work proof with receipts and paper work submitted. We will reimburse funds on a rolling-basis as soon as the work is completed and receipts are submitted.
