Lindbergh Lecture Series – September 2024
“The Circus Returns to Flemington: A Photographic and Memorabilia Exhibit of the Lindbergh Trial”
The Hunterdon County Board of Commissioners is pleased to announce this lecture series and exhibit featuring details about the famous Lindberg kidnapping and trial – an event that turned downtown Flemington into a ‘circus’ over five weeks in 1935. The Hunterdon County 300th Committee in partnership with the Hunterdon County Cultural and Heritage Commission and Hunterdon County Historical Society offers this new series of lectures in September 2024.
Commissioner Zach Rich, liaison to the Cultural and Heritage Commission stated, “The Lindbergh trial left an enduring mark on Flemington, forever connecting the town to this historic event. The recently restored History Courthouse is the perfect location for this exhibit and lecture series. I encourage residents to come out and experience the fun of learning more about the details of our past.” Famously known as the “Trial of the Century” the Lindbergh exhibit will feature a large photographic and memorabilia display of never seen public trial relics, courtesy of a collection assembled by noted speaker, James Davidson, a former Hunterdon County history teacher and Cultural & Heritage Commissioner who has authored books and studied the Lindbergh kidnapping for over 30 years.
Listed below are the dates and times for the Lindbergh Lecture Series; All lectures will take place at the Hunterdon Historic Courthouse at 71 Main Street, in Flemington. Reservations are required for some of the lectures * and all events are FREE to attend:
