State Police Superintendent Guest Speaker At Hunterdon County’s 9-11 Remembrance Ceremony
Colonel Patrick Callahan, the Superintendent of the New Jersey State Police, will serve as the Guest Speaker for Hunterdon County’s 9-11 Remembrance Ceremony, scheduled for 8:30 am, September 11, 2023, on the steps of the County Justice Center, at the corner of Court Street and Park Avenue in Flemington, Hunterdon County Sheriff Fred W. Brown has announced. Sheriff Brown stated, “Colonel Callahan, a 28-year veteran of the State Police who has served as Superintendent since 2017 is recognized and respected as a highly experienced law enforcement leader.” “Hunterdon County is honored that he accepted my invitation to be the guest speaker at our County’s 9-11 Remembrance Ceremony. The Colonel’s participation will help to amplify the importance of keeping this date at the forefront of the public’s attention.”
Sheriff Brown, who re-initiated the 9-11 Remembrance event in 2017 and has led the ceremonies in Hunterdon County every year since then on the steps of the Historic Courthouse in Flemington, said, “While the Historic Courthouse is under preservation construction, it was decided to hold the ceremony at the Justice Center.” “The commemoration which remembers all those lost on September 11, 2001, particularly the sixteen Hunterdon County residents who perished that day, is too significant not to be continued.” Many members of the law enforcement and first responder communities will join county officials at the ceremony. The public is invited to attend
