Say hello to Humdoo Ice Cream afficiando, Gabriella Truppi! Gabriella’s story is quite inspiring! After graduating high school and knowing she wanted to open her own business, she went all out and bought an ice cream truck! Big, Pink, and named it “Scoops on Wheels.” She drove that truck all over and sold scoops and pints. When Covid happened, she was up to selling 2,000 pints out of it monthly! She was never so busy. All over NJ, this truck went. She was delivering smiles when people needed them most! The truck continued to grow and since has added events to its offerings! Weddings, proms, camps, and corporate events, if there are groups of people somewhere, rest assured they want some ice cream! “We have so much fun with our truck. Pulling up to events, people shout and jump in line, smiling to take selfies in front of our “Scoops on Wheels,” “ states Gabriella. In June of 2021, she walked down Stangl Rd and saw the little cabin was up for rent. She called the number, and within weeks, she had an ice cream shop! HUMDOO was the name! The name is what her sister called ice cream as a baby.. it was unique and felt just right! “Flemington was the natural choice for my first location. This is where I grew up, and my largest and most supportive customer base was here,” smiled Gabriella. Growing up Italian, she always loved to bake and cook. So when it comes to ice cream, she’s a “little bit of this and a little bit of that”! Once she started experimenting with her ice cream recipes, she started a subscription service.
