“Meet me at The Corner”! The corner of Main Street & Bloomfield Ave, that is! The Corner is a modern-day, general store. A place you can go to purchase a nice hostess present, a baby gift, or a fun novelty for yourself. They have gourmet dips and sauces, T-shirts, picture frames, cocktail accessories, mocktail mixers, and more! This sophisticated “corner store” was opened in January 2021 by Ally & Dave Norton. The Flemington couple decided they wanted to be a part of the beautiful borough and capture it’s charm in this sweet location, just a hop, skip, and a jump from the hotel, set to be open sometime in 2024! Dave loves small towns and when asked why Flemington, he said, “This town is very cool. It has a lot of history and unique factors. It’s the second largest historic district in New Jersey { holding down first place is Cape May }”! Dave is also a photographer and has his shop above The Corner, called Dave Norton Photography. The couple recently signed the second half of their building and is putting a baby store in there, that will be called, La Petite Ruelle { meaning little ally ) Ally & Dave live in Flemington with their two children, Rosie & Maddox. They recognize the borough has had a string of bad fortune in the past, but they are confident Flemington is on an up-swing now! “This is going to be Flemington 2.0, and we’re ready for it”, says Norton.
